How it works
Each line is stripped to digits, a leading country code 1 is removed, and the remaining 10 digits are checked against basic North American Numbering Plan rules: area codes and exchanges can’t start with 0 or 1 or be N11 service codes. Everything runs in your browser; nothing is uploaded. Need to forward calls to one of these numbers? Use the call forwarding code generator.
Frequently asked questions
What is E.164 format?
The international phone number format: a plus sign, the country code and the number with no spaces or punctuation. A US number looks like +12025550123.
Does a valid result mean the number is in service?
No. This checks that the number is well-formed under the numbering plan's basic rules; it can't tell whether the number is assigned or active.
